Situation

A client in the commercial construction industry sought Corporate Business Solutions’ services as their company had sustained several years of losses due to a highly competitive market, being hit hard by the recession and some bad bids.  While they were just starting to see a slight gain, “we were concerned about moving forward and recognized that another bad year could put us out of business.”

Process

First, given that construction is a labor driven industry that requires constant evaluation, their CBS consultant identified the key performance indicators that the client had been failing to measure.  He facilitated reporting methods that will help them measure performance and provide incentives to improve on all levels.

He “taught us how to understand the value of instituting regular standard operating procedures and following through with providing positive feedback and offering an environment geared for success.”

This included “producing the financial reporting that will allow us to further grow our business.  He helped us with creating a budget that will enable us to prioritize cash flow.”  Another important tactic was “managing the sales and marketing plan that will assist potential customers in finding us.”  With their consultant’s advice, “we ‘tweaked’ our previous logo and revamped our website, which had become inactive.  I am proud and pleased with this new crisp, clean and classy logo, website, and link to social networking.”
