CBS Consulting Reviews: The Business Is No Longer Run As A One Man Show
Situation
From a modest start as a small oilfield meter repair shop over forty years ago, this energy industry business had grown from an “average of 19 employees to 37 employees, in the past year. I purchased two more buildings and thought that I was ready for expansion. Only, I was a mom and pop shop, running the entire business on my shoulders.
Approximately nine months into this new venture, I found myself over my head. I was losing money due to poor management strategies and lack of basic business principles. I was watching my cash go out and ended up having to use my line of credit just to make ends meet.”
Corporate Business Solutions was hired to turn this situation around.
Process
Once CBS became involved, the first task for the consultant was to “go over all the financial information to pin-point what was exactly going on.
He showed me the incredible potential that my business had to offer, if I would just implement a few simple changes and pay attention to what the metrics were showing me. I had no idea, before, what I was really looking at when I printed a P&L, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, etc.
I feel as though I received my MBA and have gained a greater understanding of what these financial statements mean. He changed my way of entering data in to QuickBooks and made the books easier to understand and clarified how to use them as a tool for my day-to-day business.
Finally, I have made some changes and am trying to put some key people in place, so that I don’t have to be the bottleneck for progress. I am trying to adjust to not making every decision and to rely upon competent people to do their jobs.”
Result
“My wife and I have enjoyed working with our consultant. He has been very good at working at my pace and making sure that I understood what he was talking about. I will have no problem picking up the phone in the future, if I have any questions, and feel confident that this knowledge will continue to help my company grow.” Kurt, President
