Easy Riders At Corporate Business Solutions
After a long winter (so long that we skipped spring), summer had finally arrived with a day that featured balmy temperatures reaching eighty degrees. For the first time, bikes of all shapes and sizes appeared in the employee parking lot. Whatever your taste, classic or custom, we had vehicles that would appeal! David, Brent and Jocelyn were kind enough to pose with their lean, mean, riding machines.
Extra thanks to Jocelyn for sending a photo of herself with
her scooter (since she didn’t drive it to work that day) for this blog!
An Office Full Of Sunshine & Rainbows!
Tina shares that the biggest asset, design-wise, in her office is a huge window, which allows her to look outside—there’s nothing like sunshine to brighten a bad day. “It’s an instant positive attitude adjustment,” she says.
The vibe, throughout, is tranquility and harmony. Sunlight dapples across the coordinating colors of her desk accessories (bold pink, which is echoed in the pot of flowers by her guest chairs).
Decorating Influences
Tina is inspired by the simplicity of form and clean lines of Stickley furniture, mission and craftsman style. She enjoys shopping at Pier One (the side table …
Our Outing Was The Cat’s Meow!
Our latest corporate outing was dinner and a show at the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre. We started our evening in the King’s Wharf Restaurant where we had our choice of four different entrees—New York Strip Steak, Tilapia Filet, Mushroom Ravioli or a Steak & Blue Cheese Salad. After a delicious meal, we found our seats in the theatre.
As it turned out, we were located right on the aisle, which meant that we had plenty of ‘felines’ who interacted with us as they gathered before going on stage—purring, preening and swiping tails. It was a wonderful preview of the elaborate …
Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow—Susan’s Retirement Party
Susan’s department turned out to celebrate her retirement from Corporate Business Solutions. There were many memories and well-wishes shared as we enjoyed a catered buffet spread of salad, pasta, bread, wings, chicken and ribs as well as desserts and beverages at Susan’s favorite restaurant.
President Tyler Burgess (right) joined Mike in wishing Susan peace and happiness and
letting her know that our door is always open if she ever wishes to return to work.…
18 Again!
Never joke that you’re turning 18 at Corporate Business Solutions…
Or this sight may greet you on your birthday!
Removing all the desktop items to reveal…
The punchline!
Athena then spent her birthday assuring everyone that she had turned 18, quite a while ago. Best birthday prank, ever! Happy Birthday, Athena!
Paint By Numbers—Make That Your Productivity Numbers!
Tony is working on increasing our productivity!
We’ve been refreshing our offices with a fresh coat of paint at Corporate Business Solutions and it’s an excellent time to share some research into the connection between work and your workspace. Although it may seem frivolous, environment can impact how employees work as well as how your customers and/or clients feel when visiting.
I came across this intriguing interview with Angela Wright, a color psychologist, who has consulted with numerous Fortune 500 companies. She shares that there are no ‘bad’ or ‘good’ colors. Different colors affect people differently, so depending …
A Van Filled With Food
Our Annual Food Drive closed with a huge final push for donations, resulting in what we think is the largest amount of food that we’ve ever collected. Our firm’s maintenance van was filled (there were actually even more boxes of food than shown here, which required a second trip to the food bank in order to deliver everything).
Competing To Feed The Hungry!
Andrew & Eric pose with the boxes of Barilla Pasta
that they purchased for our Annual Food Drive.
Among the different departments at Corporate Business Solutions, there can be some healthy competition to see who can donate the most, when collecting for charity. In addition to the front lobby, donation boxes are set up within various office areas, with each department taking individual ownership.
Our Annual Food Drive, benefiting a local food bank in Libertyville, followed on the tails of our Toys for Tots Collection. There might have been a feeling that one department ‘beat’ another in how many toys …
Annual ‘Toys For Tots’ Collection
Once again, Corporate Business Solutions employees rallied to collect toys for less fortunate children in our community through the Toys For Tots Foundation. Liza spearheaded the drive for everyone to bring in brand new, unwrapped toys with tons of posters and email reminders as well as organizing delivery of the toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve (for distribution to needy families). Thanks to Liza and everyone who donated toys!

Mo Bake Sale Was A Sweet Success!
Showing off a peel & stick Mo in support of Movember.
Since the ladies of Corporate Business Solutions could not participate (by growing a moustache) in the Mo Contest for Movember, they hosted, instead, a Mo Bake Sale.
Scheduled the day before Thanksgiving, there was a mouth-watering selection of cakes and pies that could be purchased for a holiday dessert as well as tons of homemade cookies, bars, brownies and candy for personal snacking. More than three tables held this impressive array of baked goods and it all sold out.
Double Trouble–Mo contestant and Mo Bake Sale supporter!
